Our Thoughtful Allocation Process
How Puppy Allocations Work
at Heritage Manor Labradoodles
Once your reservation is secured, our intentional placement process begins.
At Heritage Manor Labradoodles, puppies are not allocated in chronological order of reservation.
Rather than placing puppies based solely on timing, we look at the entire picture within each litter. Our focus is creating the strongest possible match between puppy and family.
What This Means
Every puppy is carefully observed from birth. As they grow, we evaluate developing temperament, energy expression, confidence, sensitivity, and overall presence. At the same time, we take time to understand each family's lifestyle, goals, experience level, and home dynamics.
Virtual visits are scheduled between five and a half to six weeks of age. During these visits, families share their top three choices and what draws them to each one. We discuss what life will realistically look like with your puppy and what traits matter most to your home.
After all scheduled visits are completed, we thoughtfully review the entire litter alongside all reserved families. Placements are made based on overall best fit, not on who selected first.
Why We Do It This Way
Temperament and environment work together. Our responsibility is to place each puppy in the home where they are most likely to thrive long term.
This intentional process allows us to consider the needs of the puppy just as carefully as the hopes of the family.
It is guided by experience, observation, and genuine care. And it is one of the reasons our placements are so successful for years to come.
Bringing Your Puppy Home
We do not ship our puppies. Every Heritage Manor puppy travels safely in cabin, never as cargo.
Whenever possible, we love welcoming families to our home on pickup day. It allows time to review go-home details, answer final questions, and celebrate this special milestone together.
For families traveling by air, please book your airline ticket and reserve an in-cabin pet ticket, through your carrier, for the flight home. Each airline has its own policies and fees for pets traveling under the seat in front of you, so please confirm details in advance.
Once your travel is confirmed, please send us your flight itinerary along with the date and time you would like to meet at the airport with your puppy. We will coordinate a designated meeting location at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
For families who reside outside of Ohio and are flying their puppy home out of state, Ohio sales tax (8%) will not apply when a copy of the in-cabin airline ticket, for the return flight, is provided in advance.
Our Tip: Because your puppy will travel in-cabin under the seat in front of you, some families find it helpful to select a seat with additional legroom for added comfort.
Families are responsible for purchasing and bringing an airline-approved, soft-sided carrier for in-cabin travel.
Release & Identification
For the safety and security of our puppies, valid government-issued identification is required at the time of pickup prior to release.
If you choose to have a family member, friend, or professional flight nanny pick up your puppy, their full name and contact information must be provided in advance. A signed release authorization designating that individual will be included in your contract. Identification will be verified at pickup, and we will release the puppy only to the authorized person listed on the signed release.
Current vaccination documentation is included in your puppy's going-home folder.
Our goal is to keep this transition smooth, safe, and straightforward for everyone involved.
